Information Sessions
Orientation sessions take place on these dates in the Philip
Weltner Library:
- Tuesday, August 26, 2008; 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
- Thursday, September 11 , 2008; 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, September 16, 2008; 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Classes for Cohort 41 Begin:
Tuesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 25, 2008
Program Length: 11-month Fast-Track Program and 18-month Traditional Program.
The Fast-Track Program can be completed in 11-months. The Traditional Program can be completed in 18-months. Cohorts begin three times a year in January,
April and September.
Cost
The cost of the program is $4,895.00, which consists of a $100.00
non-refundable registration fee and $4,795.00 in tuition, excluding
books and supplies. Students may pay for the program in full or
agree to the terms of the Deferred Payment Plan. Details are
available in the
application packet.

Class Schedule
Classes meet in the evening once a week from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Classes are scheduled Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, depending on the cohort. Classes do not meet between Thanskgiving and New Year's. Final exams are administered on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until noon.
Certificate
Students receive a certificate stating they have completed the
Professional Financial Planner Program at Oglethorpe University and
a Letter of Completion which serves as the qualifying documentation
for the CFP® Board of Standards, Inc. Examination. These are issued
after successful completion of the six core courses.
Starks-Oglethorpe CFP® Exam Live Review Course
Students can prepare for the CFP® Examination through an intensive two-weekend course which includes individualized study plans, one-on-one coaching and a structured interactive approach covering each exam topic. Admission Policy
It is highly recommended (but not mandatory) that eligible
candidates possess a Baccalaureate Degree and have prerequisite
knowledge of finance and accounting through either academic or work
experience. Admittance decisions are made by the Program Director on
a case by case basis.

Inc. These marks are awarded to individuals who successfully
complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification
requirements. Oglethorpe University does not certify individuals to
use the CFP® , CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERT™ and
certification marks. CFP certification is granted only by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards
to those persons who, in addition to completing an educational
requirement such as this CFP Board-Registered Program, have met its
ethics, experience and examination requirements. |
