Annual Retreats
Urban Leadership students spend two days off campus with the
director and experts in urban issues and leadership. Activities may
include team-building, service projects, event planning and others.
Exploration Week
Between semesters, students accompany the Program director to
public policy sites to learn about the focus and operation of these
entities in the Atlanta region.
Oglethorpe Symposia
Each year, members create a program for the Oglethorpe
Community. Examples include the "Conceptions of the Common Good"
symposium, and tours based on the book Where Peachtree Meets Sweet
Auburn, written by Gary M. Pomerantz.
Atlanta in the Classroom
Members of the Program have numerous opportunities to meet with
Atlanta leaders, to tour major organizations, and to attend
off-campus lectures and events.
Service to the Community
Members of the Program are engaged in a variety of service
activities, including participation in student organizations,
outreach to neighboring communities, and development of events and
symposia.
