How can I access my e-mail from home?

You can access your Oglethorpe e-mail from just about any computer with an internet connection. Click on the following link or copy and paste it into your browser:

https://mail.oglethorpe.edu/

You will be asked for your user name and password. After entering this, you will be logged into Outlook Web Access.

To use the full featured Outlook Web Access, you must have a Windows XP or Vista PC and be using Internet Explorer 6 or higher.

IF YOU ARE USING ANYTHING BESIDES WINDOWS OR INTERNET EXPLORER:

For all other operating systems and browsers simply check the box that says Use Outlook Web Access Light

 

You can access e-mail through your mail client through IMAP. The setup will vary according to which program you are using. Please refer to your user manual for instructions on adding a new mail account. The information you will need is:
Incoming Mail Server: mail.oglethorpe.edu
Outgoing Mail Server: Your ISPs SMTP server (example: mail.bellsouth.net, smtp.comcast.net)
Username: your e-mail address
Password: Your Oglethorpe password

 

Additionally you can set up ActiveSync on your mobile device to access your e-mail. Please check with your vendor for specifics on setting up such a device. The information you will need for this is:
Incoming Mail Server: mail.oglethorpe.edu
Outgoing Mail Server: Your ISPs SMTP server (example: mail.bellsouth.net, smtp.comcast.net)
Username: oglethorpe\(your user ID)
Password: Your Oglethorpe password
