Hometown: Chicago, IL/Memphis, TN

Education: BA, Oglethorpe University

Major: Psychology

Favorite Place at Oglethorpe: I have many! Traer Hall (so many good memories!), the Great Hall in Hearst, the old tree just outside the side door of Hearst with all the low-lying branches, and finally, one of the “rooms” on your way up to the top of the bell tower in Lupton.

Favorite Place in ATL: The Virginia Highlands

Why do you love OU?: Many will say that Oglethorpe is a family, and that they feel at home here on campus. I think that’s why I love OU so much. It has a certain feel to it that makes many people feel comfortable.

Favorite OU Tradition (Favorite OU Memory): I absolutely love Boar’s Head. It is my favorite OU tradition because it brings the campus and OU and surrounding community together. The legend itself is funny and quirky, and it holds a lot of history at OU welcoming the newest members of Omicron Delta Kappa, an honors fraternity here. I was also a member of the OU Singers, so I got to perform at the event as well. It is still something I try to attend every year.

What advice do you have for students?: College is a time unlike any other in your life. These short 4 years will have the potential to impact you for the rest of your life, and you’ll always remember them like they were yesterday. Be in the moment. Relish the time you have here; it will be over before you know it. Be positive and make the best of every situation and try not to be in a hurry, always worrying about what’s next. Make the best of the present and what’s next will fall into place.
