Petrels Finish Season Ranked #2 in Golfstat Power Rankings
The Oglethorpe men's golf team finished the 2005-2006 season with a
#2 overall power ranking in Golfstat's final head-to-head rankings.
The head-to-head rankings are formulated by a combination of
statistics throughout the season including adjusted scoring average,
 average dropped scores and total wins for the season. A closer look
at the formula reveals that only one Division III school, Methodist
College, got the best of Oglethorpe for the season. Oglethorpe and
Methodist competed in 10 tournaments this year with Methodist
gaining a slight edge by finishing ahead of the Petrels in 6 of
those 10 competitions.
The #2 ranking at the end of the season is the highest finish by an
Oglethorpe team in school history. Complete results below.
