Dale Ties for 2nd, Lafferty Takes 7th at The Orchard Fall Invitational
Oglethorpe junior Katie Dale continued her strong start to the 2008-2009 golf season by recording a tied for second place finish at The Orchard Fall Invitational in Clarkesville, Georgia earlier this week. One week earlier, Dale claimed medalist honors at the Piedmont Fall Classic.
Oglethorpe freshman Elizabeth Lafferty of Warner Robbins continued to impress as well, shooting an 81 to finish alone in seventh place. It was her second consecutive top-10 finish to open the season.
Dale fired a round of 79 to finish in the tie for second, 6 strokes off the torrid pace set by Natalie Foster of Tennessee-Wesleyan College.
As a team, the Petrels finished in 4th place among six teams and will look to continue building momentum when they compete in the Reinhardt Invitational early next month.
