Pugh Named SCAC Player of the Year; Chapman, Loftsson and Kaufold Also Honored
Oglethorpe junior Scott Pugh of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania was named SCAC Player-of-the-Year after capturing medalist honors at the 2009 SCAC Torunament held at the Tunica Resorts in Mississippi.
Pugh posted consecutive rounds of 78-73-74 in three blustery days on the course in Tunica to outlast Bill Bazzel of Rhodes College by one stroke with his 225 total.
Freshman Colin Chapman of Franklin, North Carolina carded rounds of 77-75-77 for a total of 229 which was good for fourth place overall and a spot on the 2009 All-SCAC Men's Golf First Team.
Sophomore Olafur Loftsson of Reykjavic, Iceland posted a 233 following rounds of 81-75-77 to take sole possession of sixth place and be named a 2009 All-SCAC Men's Golf Second Team member.
Senior Hap Kaufold of Albany, Georgia shot 76-81-78
for a total of 235 and seventh place overall in the tournament. For his efforts, Kaufold was named a member of the 2009 All-SCAC Men's Golf Second Team.
