Men's Golf Lands Three Ping All-Americans
After securing the school’s first ever NCAA title last Saturday, the Oglethorpe University men’s golf team learned today that three of their members have been selected as 2009 Division III Ping All-Americans.
Olafur Loftsson (Reykjavik, Iceland), who brought home the Arnold Palmer Award for the 2009 NCAA Championship medalist, was selected as a 2009 Division III Ping First- Team All-America for the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels.
Oglethorpe freshman Colin Chapman (Franklin, North Carolina), who posted a tied for 11th place finish at the 2009 Championships, was selected as a 2009 Division III Ping Second-Team All-America. Joining Chapman on the Ping Second-Team All-America squad was Petrel junior Scott Pugh (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) who finished in a tie for 15th place at the Championships.
