Gates Finishes Strong in 13th Place at NCAA's
Oglethorpe University senior Julia Gates finished her career in style by rising another four spots in the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Championships in Waverly, Iowa to finish 13th overall individually.
Last year, Gates recorded a top-20 finish by coming home in a tie for 18th place. This year, she posted a top-15 finish by scoring a tie for 13th place. Julia posted a final round of 6 over par 78 and recorded a tournament total of 23 over par 311 to secure the high finish and Honorable Mention All-American honors.
Oglethorpe sophomore Katie Dale gained valuable experience in her first trip to the Championships, finishing in a tie for 64th place in a field that included 110 golfers.
