Gates Climbs Leaderboard at Women's Championships
Oglethorpe University senior women's golfer Julia Gates fired a Round Three total of 5 over par 77 to move eleven spots up in the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships and into a tie for 17th place heading into today's final round.
Gates is looking to improve on her tied for 18th place performance from one year ago and can do so with a steady Round Four today. Gates, playing on the Centennial Oaks Golf Course in Waverly, Iowa, will tee off at 1:50 p.m. eastern time.
Oglethorpe sophomore Katie Dale has used her individuals invitation as a great learning experience for a player her age and sits in a tie for 74th place heading into today's final round.
