OU Women Golfers Place 18th at Jekyll Island Collegiate
The Oglethorpe University women's golf team finished in a tie for 18th place at the 2008 Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate. The Stormy Petrels compiled a 1102 to finish 143 strokes off the pace set by torunament winner Berry College.
The Petrels were led by the stellar play of sophomore Katie Dale who recorded a 9th place finish in a field of 140 golfers to earn All-Tournament honors with her three-day total of 240.
Senior Julia Gates also turned in a strong showing by posting a totla of 250, good for 21st place overall on the Indian Mound Golf Course.
