Oglethorpe University senior men's soccer player Daniel Brown and and senior women's soccer player Julie Vaughan have been selected as members of the 2008 Men's and Women's Soccer All-Sportsmanship Teams.

Muller, Devault and Komic Selected to All-SCAC Third Team
Oglethorpe University senior midfielder Michael Muller, senior midfielder Scott Devault and senior forward Amel Komic were each selected as members of the 2008 All-SCAC Men's Soccer Third Team earlier this week.

Komic Named SCAC Offensive POTW
Oglethorpe University sophomore forward Amel Komic was named the SCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from November 3 to Novemebr 10. Komic, playing for the final time on Salamone Field, recorded four goals and an assist in his final two matches versus Austin and Colorado College.

The Oglethorpe University men's soccer team ended their season in style on Sunday afternoon by defeating the Colorado College Tigers on Salamone Field, 3-1. The Petrels battled through midseason injuries to win five of their final six contests of the season.

The Oglethorpe University men's soccer team defeated Huntingdon College on Salamone Field on Saturday afternoon, 2-1. It's the second consecutive win for the Petrels by the same score over non-conference foes.

Men Take Down Lions
The Oglethorpe University men's soccer team defeated Piedmont College on Salamone Field on Wednesday afternoon, 2-1. Despite falling behind the Lions by one goal early on, Oglethorpe rallied to tie the match just before half and then take the lead with only seven minutes remaining in the second stanza.

Lynx Sweep Petrels on the Pitch
The Oglethorpe University men's and women's soccer teams both lost to the Rhodes College Lynx on Salamone Field on Friday afternoon. The men fell by a score of 2-1 and the women hung tough until a bevy of late goals doomed them, 4-0.

Petrels and Tigers Play to a Hard-Fought Tie
The Oglethorpe University men's soccer team played the DePauw Tigers to a 1-1 tie on Sunday afternoon in Greencastle, Indiana. Senior Michael Muller scored on a pass from Scott Devault and the two teams played two scoreless overtimes to record the tie.

The Oglethorpe University men's soccer team claimed the Birmingham-Southern Soccer Invitational this weekend by defeating Spring Hill College on Friday and earning a tie against Mississippi College earlier this afternoon.

The Oglethorpe University men's soccer team lost to Maryville College on Salamone Field on Saturday afternoon, 3-1. Despite holding a 1-0 halftime advantage, the Petrels could not hold off the Scots offensive output in the second half.

The Oglethorpe University men's soccer team lost to Methodist University at Emory on Saturday afternoon, 1-0. Despite outshooting Methodist 13-8 including 9-1 in shots-on-goal, the Petrels could not break through to claim the victory.

Men Top Guilford in 2008 Opener
The Oglethorpe University men's soccer team started the 2008 season in style by posting a 4-1 victory over Guilford at Emory University on Friday afternoon. The Petrels got the scoring going early as senior Division I transfer Scott Devault fed Bryan Burnick for a goal in only the game's third minute.

Mueller Showcases Talent in Premier Developmental League
Former Oglethorpe University soccer star David Mueller has continued his soccer career by competing in the United Soccer Leagues Premier Developmental League. A defender for the St. Louis Lions, Mueller was named to the Premier Developmental League's All Conference Team for his outstanding performance in the Central Division.

Mueller Named All-Region for 4th Straight Year
Oglethorpe University senior soccer defender David Mueller was named to the Soccer Coaches Association of America All South Region Team for the fourth consecutive season. Mueller, from St. Louis, has patrolled the back line for Oglethorpe with incredible skill and determination for all his years on the pitch at Oglethorpe.
