Head Coach: Bob UngerBob Unger will begin his sixteenth
season as head coach in August 2004. Since his arrival,
Oglethorpe's cross country teams have won 259 meets while losing
only 27. The track & field teams have won 52 duals and have lost
17. Unger is a 1969 graduate of Lebanon Valley College where he
competed in cross country and wrestling He holds the M.A. from the
University of Chicago.

Evelyn exactly 10 kilometers from the campus (which, on occasion, he
runs). Their son James is a 4th-grade teacher at Austin
Elementary in Dunwoody, GA.
In addition to coaching 38 Academic All-Americans in
cross country, conference champions in track and national finalists
in both sports at Oglethorpe, he coached Ireland's 5000 meter entry
in the 1996 Olympic Games and the U.S.A.'s Pentathlete in the
Paralympics the same year. He has also introduced many youngsters
to the world of running by founding and coaching MINIMILERS, a
children's running and fitness club.
Steven Green - a 1993 Oglethorpe grad,
hailing from Vidalia, Ga., Steve competed in shot put, javelin,
discus and hammer as a student-athlete. Steve held the Oglethorpe
record in three of the four throwing events upon his graduation. He
coaches all throwers and coordinates the weight-training program.
Steve is also coordinator of intramurals and assistant sports
information director.
James Unger - a 1998 Lebanon Valley College
(Pennsylvania) grad and son of head coach Bob Unger, James was a
four-year letter winner in track while at LVC. He competed in the
800 meters during indoor season, and competed in the triple jump,
discus and relays during the outdoor season. James coaches both the
triple and long jumps. He also is a fourth grade math teacher at
Austin Elementary School in nearby Dunwoody, Ga.
