President of Panhellenic
A Business Administration major with a concentration in finance, Anna was recruited to Oglethorpe to play women’s basketball. A member of Chi Omega since the spring of her freshman year, today Anna sits as president of Panhellenic. Along with 7 other board members and delegates from each of the 3 sororities on the Oglethorpe campus, Anna ensures that the sororities are true to their philanthropic mission.
She recommends sorority life highly. “It’s helped me learn how to work with a broad base of people and has opened up opportunities for leadership experience.” The camaraderie and support she has experienced as a “sister” are also undeniable. “Today, I have more intimate relationships with this group of people and have really got to know them. Added to which it’s just a fun experience!”
The small size of the university plays a big role in the intimacy one feels. “At OU each sorority consists of about 40 members. It’s easier to meet and get to know other members here at OU than is possible at a larger school.” Anna claims that sorority life gives you a group of friends you can turn to at any time. “It’s a way to make close friendships that will last for a lifetime. It’s something that you will never regret.”
