Safety & Security

Safe campus. Safe community.

Oglethorpe’s campus is private and enclosed, with secured access for faculty, students, and staff. Residence halls require keycard access, so only approved visitors can enter.

The campus is monitored 24/7 by our campus safety officers. If you ever need help, just ask one of them. They’ll be happy to escort you across campus at night or locate a lost item.

Plus, our Campus Life staff members live on campus and are always on-call. If you need help in an emergency or a friendly person to talk to, they’re here for you.

Surrounding the campus is Brookhaven, a safe, family-friendly neighborhood and desirable Atlanta suburb. Additionally, the Brookhaven Police are a well-resourced force with outstanding response time, working hand-in-hand with our campus safety team to ensure that students can feel safe any time, day or night.
