Originally from Southwest Ohio, Professor Clapp completed a bachelor’s and two master’s degrees at the University of Cincinnati. Their research focus is representation on modern television, specifically representation of LGBTQ individuals and women. When not in the classroom, Professor Clapp is watching any variety of sports, deciding what video game to play out of their large collection, or crafting.

Teaching and Research Interests: 

  • Representation of marginalized groups on modern television, especially LGBTQ individuals and women
  • Violence on television, primarily focused on women as victims and/or perpetrators
