Oglethorpe University will welcome Steve Sear, executive vice president of global sales and distribution for Delta Air Lines, to campus on Wednesday, March 25, at 6:00 p.m. in the Cousins Center Atrium. Steve Sear, EVP at Delta
Steve Sear is the executive vice president of global sales and distribution for Delta Air Lines.

In his role at Delta, Sear leads worldwide sales and distribution, overseeing customer relationships with corporations, travel management companies and global partners. He also directs Delta Cargo, the airline’s specialized air freight division, which manages everything from pharmaceuticals and perishables to live animals and high‑value goods.

Prior to his current position, Sear served as Delta’s President – International, where he led the airline’s Asia Pacific, Atlantic, and Latin American regions and helped shape its global alliances strategy, including SkyTeam leadership and joint ventures.

Sear has helped lead Delta to sustained industry recognition, including being named the No. 1 carrier in the Business Travel News Airline Survey every year since 2011, and he has been recognized as one of the publication’s 25 Most Influential Business Travel Executives.

The visit is intended to give students, especially those studying business or in the MBA program, firsthand exposure to a successful Atlanta executive. All students are welcome to hear Sear share the story of his path to the C‑suite and reflect on the experiences that shaped his leadership journey.

“Every opportunity for our students to hear from a recognized leader is tremendous. This is especially true with Steve Sear, who operates at the highest levels of global business,” said Stephen Craft, Dean of the Hammack School of Business. “His career reflects the kind of strategic thinking and operational excellence we strive to instill in our students, and we are excited to welcome him to campus.”

The event is open to the campus community and will include remarks from Sear followed by time for conversation and questions.
