Oglethorpe University has announced the inaugural Oglethorpe University Alumni Art Exhibition, a dynamic showcase of creativity featuring works by more than seventeen alumni artists. Spanning a diverse range of media—including drawing, painting, sculpture and photography—this juried exhibition highlights the artistic talents of alumni from various professional backgrounds.
On view during Alumni Weekend, the exhibition will be installed in both the Philip Weltner Library and the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art, offering a unique opportunity for returning alumni to celebrate their creative expressions while reconnecting with classmates and the university community.

Many of the featured artists do not work professionally in the arts, making this exhibition a powerful reminder that creativity thrives in all fields. Whether pursuing careers in business, science, education or other industries, Oglethorpe alumni continue to foster their artistic passions—demonstrating that art is not just a career path, but a lifelong pursuit of expression and inspiration.
For many alumni, seeing their work displayed in the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art is a deeply meaningful experience—one that validates their creativity and reaffirms the importance of artistic expression in their lives. Sharing their work with peers, faculty and the broader community not only showcases their talents but also fosters a sense of pride and connection.
The exhibition is juried by Taylor Roberts ’21, Sharon Moskowitz ’82, Curator of Collections John Daniel Tilford and Associate Professor of Art Christina Price Washington.
