Omicron Delta Kappa leadership society taps newest members

The Omicron Delta Kappa (O∆K) circle at Oglethorpe University has tapped 11 new members and one faculty member to join this highly selective national leadership honor society.

“Fall is an exciting time for Oglethorpe’s circle of Omicron Delta Kappa.  We get to see what student leaders apply to join our honor society, and those talented students truly do span the full OU community,” says Dr. John Nardo, the faculty advisor. “This is seen through O∆K’s five pillars of leadership: Academics/Research, Athletics, Campus/Community Service, Communications, and Creative/Performing Arts.”

This year’s new members for Fall 2025 are:

  • Komang Selvia Ardani
  • Cameron Grayson Eyl
  • Isabella Jane Fonseca
  • Erin McKenzie Jarrett
  • Rachel Malone
  • Devlynn Miller
  • Madison Pearson
  • Morgan Elizabeth Phillips
  • Nevaeh Renee Riddle
  • Ashton Pavel Rubin
  • Sophia Savage
  • Dr. Bill J. Shillito, instructor of mathematics, faculty initiate

Angel Wildman ’25, who serves as the president of O∆K this year, reflects on this new class of inductees.

“We have an exciting group of new O∆K members to induct this year, all of whom are highly engaged and motivated students. They have already worked in various positions across campus to serve and improve Oglethorpe University and will continue to do so as O∆K members,” says Wildman.

Established in 1914, Omicron Delta Kappa encourages and rewards the highest standards of excellence for young leaders and innovators at universities nationwide.

ODK’s mission is to identify, honor and develop leaders in collegiate and community life; encourage collaboration among students, faculty, staff and alumni to advance leadership; and promote its ideals.

“Later in the semester, at December’s Boar’s Head Concert and Celebration, we will present these new members to the OU community,” says Nardo. “Then, our new members will perform the ‘Legend of the Boar’s Head,’ and a surprise faculty member will give a special reading.”

Oglethorpe University’s O∆K Circle was founded in 1976 and remains a vital, thriving part of the campus today. Initiation into the circle is one of the highest honors an Oglethorpe student can achieve.

“The experience of being O∆K president this year has already taught me so much. I’m enjoying learning more about how Oglethorpe works behind the scenes, and I appreciate the opportunity to be a leader in the community,” says Wildman.
