Food Pantry
The Oglethorpe University Student Food Pantry, called Petey’s Pantry, provides free non-perishable food and personal care items to Oglethorpe students in need. As a student-focused organization, our main priority is helping our fellow Petrels who are in need and currently experiencing food injustice.
Request services
- Our online ordering form will require students’ email address (for pickup coordination purposes) and a choice of day/time for pickup. Food pantry staff will bag the items and have them ready at the requested pickup time.
- The Food Pantry offers pickup times four days a week. Please submit your order AT LEAST 24 hours prior to the pickup day you request on the form.
- Note: You will NOT receive confirmation or reminder of the date and time you requested to pick up, so make sure to alert your calendar on the date and time you selected. The online ordering form will be available each Friday beginning at 5 p.m. for the following week’s orders. This allows us to make any changes or updates to the form based on the current inventory.
- Email us at [email protected] if you are unable to pick up your items or have any questions. We appreciate your cooperation.
- Please note that when completing the form, you are not necessarily placing a direct order. Your preferences checked within the form will help us create your bag, but no food items can be guaranteed. The form requests information on dietary restrictions. We will do our best to avoid items that you did not indicate as preferred.
- Some of the contents of your food bag may require a can opener, and/or stove or microwave to prepare your food. Can openers can be obtained from the Oglethorpe Food Pantry.
FAQs
Petey’s Pantry is a donation funded Food Pantry formed from a subcommittee of the Student Government Association. The purpose of Petey’s Pantry is to provide a healthy and sustainable environment in which all Oglethorpe students, regardless of income, are being offered food, water and supplies necessary to maintaining a happy and healthy experience at Oglethorpe.
All Oglethorpe students enrolled in the current semester are eligible to place and receive orders. If you do not meet this requirement, please email [email protected] so that we can connect you to additional resources.
While the Food Pantry is need-blind and does not require income or financial aid information to be served, in order to be able to make our supplies last and meet the current high demand, we ask that you consider whether the Food Pantry is right for you.
The Food Pantry should be used by any student who:
- is food insecure
- may be facing a change in employment status
- is currently in quarantine or isolation without the financial means to order food
Orders can be placed through this form.
Petey’s Pantry has non-perishable foods and drinks, as well as personal care products and toiletry items like toothpaste, razors, deodorant and more. When filling out the order form, you will be able to see in-stock products.
Petey’s Pantry is completely free to all eligible students.
At this time, you can expect to place two or three orders a month. Please email [email protected] if you have questions or need additional support.
Fill out the online feedback form.
The Food Pantry is located on the first floor of the TLCC, just past the commuter lockers.
