Tutoring and Learning Support
Student Success offers tutoring and supplemental instruction in various subject areas, along with time management coaching. Most students find it beneficial to meet with our free peer learning support services early and often. To view availability and schedule an appointment, please visit EAB Navigate.

Tutoring
One-on-one tutoring is available in many subjects, with an emphasis on freshmen and sophomore level courses. Generally, tutoring is appointment-based and used to enhance academic skills around your needs. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, review important concepts, and learn various strategies.
Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instructors (SIs) are available in many STEM-related courses. If your course has an SI, your professor will introduce them to the class. SIs attend course lectures, hold regular office hours, and host course reviews or study sessions. They are available to support in a group setting or one-on-one via appointments.
Time Management
Time management coaches are available to help students build awareness of how their time is spent and assist with making plans to support the effective use of time. Coaches identify tools that students can use to plan ahead. They also assist with task prioritization, planner organization, and event study skills! To schedule an appointment with your Student Success Advisor, please follow the steps below:
- Go to oglethorpe.campus.eab.com and enter your Oglethorpe credentials
- Click on Schedule an Appointment
- Select Learning Support for the type of appointment
- Select the learning support service you need
- Choose your desired date of service
- Select a time and location that works for your schedule
- In the field titled, “Would you like to share anything else?,” please include any comments about your needs or the concepts you are hoping to cover
- Enter your phone number for a text message reminder
- When you’re finished, click Schedule
Please check EAB Navigate or email your Student Success Advisor for assistance locating tutors or SIs in your desired subject area. If there is no peer tutor or SI available for your particular class, please make sure to visit your professor’s office hours for additional support.
Log into EAB Navigate to cancel your appointment.
With tutoring, students generally have a question or problem they need to solve; tutoring sessions are built around your needs. During a session, you will have the opportunity to ask questions, review important concepts, and learn study strategies. On the other hand, supplemental instructors attend class with students and re-teach some of the content to reinforce learning. SI’s hold office hours and group study sessions to review important course concepts, answer questions, and offer study tips.
Your professor will introduce your SI to the class. Please note that not all classes offer supplemental instruction.
