Adult degree Program
Finish your degree.
Adult degree programs for adults age 22+ who are beginning their undergraduate education or returning to college.
The Complete College Experience
As an adult degree student, all campus activities are available to you, whether you need tutoring to prepare for a final exam, a librarian to help you find a research article or career development support to find an internship.
Programs
Choose from Business Administration or Communication Studies majors with courses that fit your schedule and finish your degree at your pace.
Military Friendly
Oglethorpe is also proud to be a yellow ribbon school, offering tuition discounts to service members and veterans.
Veterans eligible for full benefits under the Post-9/11 VA Education Benefits pay ZERO tuition. We go above and beyond many other colleges to serve those who have served our country.
Schedules
Your schedule at your pace.
Oglethorpe University uses a semester system, and all courses in the evening are 8 weeks long. This allows adult degree students to maintain a full-time course load while only taking two classes at a time. 4-Credit classes mean that students take 1/3 fewer classes to get their degree, when compared to other colleges.
Classes are held on either Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday at two time slots: 6:00 – 8:10 p.m. and 8:20 – 10:30 p.m.
Adult degree program students are not limited to evening classes and may also take any of the daytime classes offered at Oglethorpe as their personal schedule permits.
View the current schedule in our online OASIS registration system (log-in as a guest).

Tuition and Fees
Discount included:
We don’t believe costs should get in the way of a high-quality private university education. To help make the cost of returning to school more manageable, we have built-in a discount for adult students covering over 60% of the standard undergraduate tuition rates. That’s a discount of $3,000 per course. Enroll full-time and you’re getting the equivalent of an $18,000 scholarship per year. You may also qualify for state and federal financial aid, as well as loans and payment plans.
2024-2025 Adult Degree Program Tuition & Fees
- $500/ credit hour ($2,000 per 4 credit course)
- $50/ semester student activity fee
- Financial aid eligible
- Payment plans available
Visit the Hub for Enrollment Services website for a full list of fees.
For summer tuition & fees, please visit the summer school website.
Oglethorpe offers multiple ways to pay, including convenient payment plans. Visit the Hub for Enrollment Services for more information and payment deadlines. Any refunds of tuition paid are subject to the policies outlined in the Oglethorpe University University Bulletin.
Arrangements can be made for those students whose employers pay all or part of their tuition and fees.
Upon registration, the student must submit paperwork to the enrollment services area from the employer verifying the reimbursement. The balance is due no later than 30 days after the end of the semester (or session within a semester) being reimbursed. If the balance is not paid within this time frame, the student will be assessed late fees and will not be permitted to register for future semesters (or sessions within semesters).
Financial Aid
Our adult degree program tuition includes a built-in scholarship for every student. You may qualify for need-based federal and state financial aid. In addition, you may apply for external scholarships and aid from private foundations and grants.
To apply for aid, you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and include Oglethorpe’s FAFSA code 001586. Adult students who file the FAFSA will be considered for all federal aid programs.
- Pell and SEOG Grants
- Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans
- Perkins Loans
- Federal Work-study
We will work with students who want to file the FAFSA at any time throughout the year, but we encourage students to complete it at least a month before the intended semester start date to ensure adequate processing time.
Learn more about these programs at the Federal Student Aid website.
Full-time students (12 credits per semester) who have been Georgia residents for at least 24 months may be eligible for the Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant (GTEG) and could potentially qualify for the HOPE scholarship. More information is available on the GA Futures website.
Students using any Veterans Benefits (VA Education Benefits, Post 9/11 VA Education Benefits, Survivors & Dependents Assistance, etc.) can receive help through our Hub for Enrollment Services, and most of the process is handled online.
