The Oglethorpe University Campus Safety Department consists of 10 officers. 

Officers are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, performing rotating campus patrols and responding to security/safety concerns and campus needs to make this campus a safe place to live and learn.

Through RAVE OU Alerts, our emergency notification system, and with the help of our Student Safety Advisory Committee, Oglethorpe students, faculty and staff are kept up-to-date on safety and awareness on campus.

Surrounding the campus is Brookhaven, a safe, family-friendly neighborhood and desirable Atlanta suburb. Additionally, the Brookhaven Police are a well-resourced force with outstanding response time, working hand-in-hand with our campus safety team to ensure that students can feel safe any time, day or night.

  • Have an emergency
  • Would like a safety escort across campus
  • Are locked out of your dorm
  • Lost or found something on campus
  • Would like a safety escort between the Oglethorpe MARTA station and campus from 10 p.m. – 6 a.m.
  • Need a jump start for your vehicle
  • Are expecting off-campus visitors from 9:30 p.m. – 6 a.m.
  • Would like to learn more about how to be safe on campus

CSA Clery Reporting Form

Oglethorpe University CSA’s please use this form to report any alleged or suspected Clery crimes that were reported to you.

Submit An Incident Report

This form is an opportunity for you to provide information concerning alleged policy infractions, common area damages, problems, or concerns. This information will only be used to initiate an investigation or as supporting evidence in a current investigation.

We place the highest priority on the safety and security of our students and campus community. In accordance with section 485(f) of Higher Education Act of 1965, known as the Jeanne Clery Act, Oglethorpe prepares and publishes an annual report on campus security and fire safety. The report provides increased transparency about campus incidents, community member rights, policies and procedures for conduct proceedings, support services, prevention, and educational programming.
