Student organization Art Flow recently showcased Oglethorpe students’ creativity at the annual OUMA Nights hosted at the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art.

A tradition started by alumna Abbie Argo ’18, OUMA Nights was coordinated this year by Heidi Ullman ’26 and Penelope Bertrand ’26. Together they worked with various student organizations to help make the Roaring 20s-themed evening a success.

“The event is a celebration of student creatives,” says Ullman. “We contact student performers, entrepreneurs, and artists to perform, sell, and display their art! We make an effort to include all art forms.”

OUMA Nights spotlighted a range of art, including painting, digital art, poetry, music and dancing — plus a photo booth, mocktails for guests, and more.

Student artist Gabby Dunmar ’27 had the opportunity to display her artwork for the guests.

“It was a wonderful event to bring the students together,” says Dunmar. “[There was] so much talent, and above all, encouragement and support from the artists in the community and the hosts.”

OUMA Nights also provided a space for student vendors to promote their small businesses. Student entrepreneur Rein Chabat ’24, who runs a small crochet business, participated in this year’s event.

“It was an incredibly fun experience and a great night to support student artists, businesses, and performers,” shares Chabat.

The campus community’s support of its artists, performers and student businesses was felt throughout the night.

“Everyone looked amazing and it was very pleasant to be able to talk to some of the artists. It was overall a memorable experience,” says Dunmar.
