In their last days on campus as students, the senior class organized “Senior Week,” a series of events designed to create lasting memories for members of their class.
The week kicked off with a lively game of “Are You Smarter Than a Professor?” where students went head-to-head with faculty members Dr. Kower, Dr. Laws, Dr. Clapp, and Dr. Pham in a friendly trivia competition.
“I really liked the idea of our event. It was so fun inviting the professors to participate, and I’m so proud of our students who compete against them,” said Morgan Quach ’25. “Although it was a little challenging to come up with the questions for the game, I really hope that this becomes a Senior Week tradition!”
The fun continued with a library lock-in featuring games, karaoke, and Chick-fil-A catering. The week wrapped up with a final celebration at the off-campus venue Slingshot. Altogether, the week was packed with joyful activities and meaningful moments for the senior class to share as they prepared to graduate.
“I came in as a first-year not really knowing anyone, and now I’m helping plan our final college memories,” said Nathania Adhisty ’25, senior class president. “It’s been emotional to look back at where we started and realize just how far we’ve come—not just individually, but as a class.”
These events led to the special event hosted by the Alumni Association: the Carillon Ceremony, a cherished Oglethorpe tradition that celebrates both reflection and transition.
This ceremony began in 2005 and offers graduating students a unique opportunity: to climb the iconic Lale Özgörkey Bell Tower in Lupton Hall, sign the historical carillon registry, and ring one of the bells by hand. It’s a moment that symbolizes the close of one chapter and the beginning of another—as proud members of the Oglethorpe Alumni Association.
“With each strike of the bell, we honor our journey, celebrate our growth, and ring in the legacy we leave behind. The ceremony reminded us of how far we have come and that we are ready for whatever comes next,” said Gloria Okwueze ’25.
Finally, the President’s Reception on Friday evening was a perfect way to reconnect with students, families and friends as the Class of 2025 prepares to join the alumni community.
