Prepare for an in-demand career in nursing with an emphasis on leadership.
Nursing requires technical skill and knowledge, but an extraordinary nurse is also well-rounded, a capable leader, culturally competent, critically thoughtful and a strong communicator. Build your potential as you study in the liberal arts at Oglethorpe while preparing for your future nursing career:
- Immerse your studies in the liberal arts, giving yourself a well-rounded foundation
- Build flexible skills to tackle complex problems and grow leadership experience that can be applied across many career paths
- Develop strong critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills
Oglethorpe University’s Core curriculum in the liberal arts builds this strong educational foundation. This, combined with the strong leadership focus of Emory University’s Master of Nursing program, is ideal for students who plan to pursue leadership roles in healthcare.
Oglethorpe’s small class sizes mean that you can foster relationships with faculty and peers to provide a supportive learning environment – one where you can gain hands on experience and meet your personal and educational goals.
Let your advisor know about your plan to complete the Pre-Nursing program in your first or second year, and they’ll ensure you have all the courses you need to be ready for transition to the master’s program. Students who meet all the requirements will be admitted into the Master of Nursing program at Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing (NHWSN) at Emory University.
