Class of 2025 breaks participation record in Seniors for Students campaign supporting on-campus housing

The Class of 2025 exceeded its goal for the annual Seniors for Students Senior Gift Campaign, setting a new university record with 175 graduating seniors making a gift.

This year, the class chose to support the Housing Support Fund, which helps provide scholarships to help students live on campus during their time at Oglethorpe, a cause that resonated with many seniors.

“As someone who’s lived on campus all four years and served as an RA, I’ve seen firsthand how much stable housing matters,” said Nathania Adhisty ’25. “That’s why, as Senior Class President, it meant a lot to lead the Senior Gift Campaign and see it through from start to finish. This campaign was a real show of support for future students who need that same stability to succeed.”

Research shows that living on campus not only enhances the student experience, but also leads to higher retention and graduation rates, higher GPAs, and a stronger sense of community. The Housing Support Fund helps students fully immerse themselves in Oglethorpe campus life without the stress of the financial burden.

“Living on campus has been such an incredible experience for me, and it means a lot that we can help an incoming student have the same opportunity,” said Senior Senator Morgan Quach ’25. “Oglethorpe has been my home for the past four years, and I loved living with my friends as well as meeting new people.”

For many OU students, living on campus is more than just a convenience, it’s essential to building relationships and a strong support system.

“There really is so much more room for opportunity and connection when you’re on campus,” said Senior Senator Joseph Bowie ’25. “On-campus housing is a luxury — one that is not afforded to everyone — but this housing campaign is working to ensure that it is.”

The Seniors for Students Campaign is an annual tradition for each graduating class to come together and invest in Oglethorpe’s future, give back to the university that gave them so much, and ensure that the extraordinary experiences they have had continue for future Petrels.
