The annual ranking evaluates the direct benefits a college or university provides its students, favoring variables like alumni salary, graduation rate and student satisfaction over acceptance rate, endowment and freshmen SAT scores.
Forbes includes only 15% of the 4,300 degree-granting undergraduate institutions in the U.S. on this list of the 650 “best in the country”.
