After conducting a nationwide search, Oglethorpe University has named Ginger Fay as the new Vice President of Enrollment Management, effective June 1, 2025.
“Ginger Fay has the right mix of skills, experience and passion to lead our student recruitment effort and articulate Oglethorpe’s academic excellence to high school students and their families,” said Oglethorpe President Kathryn McClymond. “She believes in our mission, and I have no doubt she will be effective in her leadership of our admission and financial aid teams.”

Fay will report to the president and serve as a member of the Senior Administrative Leadership Team (SALT). She will be responsible for shaping and executing comprehensive strategies to attract and enroll a talented and inclusive student body for undergraduate and MBA enrollment.
“This is a tremendous opportunity, and I look forward to introducing students and their families to what I know is so special about the educational experience and academic community at Oglethorpe,” Fay said. “I am eager to work with such a talented team to continue the positive momentum Oglethorpe is building as it continues to make a real impact on Atlanta.”
The Search Committee was led by Co-chairs Rhana Gittens Wheeler and Regina Mincberg and included Todd Brooks, Lisa Conley, Vivian Medrano, Isabel Milian and Chris Summers.
Fay brings more than 25 years of experience in the field of college admissions and counseling to her work at Oglethorpe. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in liberal studies from Duke University where she served in the admissions office for five years, including two years as the transfer admissions coordinator. She has read applications for multiple admissions and scholarship programs including Emory University, Coca-Cola Scholars, and the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. She has been a member of the faculty and administration at several independent schools including stints as an associate director of college counseling at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts and as director of alumni relations at Sidwell Friends School in Washington DC. She was also an interim upper school counselor at Atlanta International School before serving as the founding director of college counseling at The New School in Atlanta, and then as global director of partnerships at Applerouth Education.
An author, educator and entrepreneur, Fay has written numerous articles and has spoken at dozens of high schools and national conferences on subjects ranging from higher education access to digital testing to college affordability. She founded her own college counseling practice in 2006 and has a particular affinity for working with first-generation college students, students recovering from addiction and/or mental health challenges, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Fay is an active volunteer with the Chastain Chapter of Young Men’s Service League and serves as co-president of the Pace Academy Arts Alliance.
Currently enrolled in the University of Georgia’s Louise McBee Institute of Higher Education, Fay will earn her doctoral degree in education in December of 2025.
“This is a strategic hire that will capitalize on the momentum built by Interim Vice President Whitney Lewis whose efforts have produced a record number of applications and an increase in deposits year-over-year at this point in the recruitment cycle,” McClymond said. “I am grateful for Whitney’s expertise and happy to announce that she has agreed to stay on in a contract capacity to assist Ginger with the transition and work on enrollment marketing. Ginger will excel at communicating the vision of academic excellence at Oglethorpe and attract top notch students who will thrive in our community.”
