Multicultural, postcolonial, and world literature, ethnicity and identity in American literature and media, the Bildungsroman, 19th century transatlantic fiction, women’s literature.


  • June 2017: invited to give a lecture at Yale University’s Macmillan Center Summer PIER Institute (Programs in International Educational Resources) on connections between the study of African Literature and African American Literature.
  • May 2017: invited speaker on featured panel about “The Future of Multi-ethnic American Literatures” at 31st Annual MELUS Conference at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
