Safety & Security
Safe campus. Safe community.
Oglethorpe’s campus is private and enclosed, with secured access for faculty, students, and staff. Residence halls require keycard access, so only approved visitors can enter.
The campus is monitored 24/7 by our campus safety officers. If you ever need help, just ask one of them. They’ll be happy to escort you across campus at night or locate a lost item.
Plus, our Campus Life staff members live on campus and are always on-call. If you need help in an emergency or a friendly person to talk to, they’re here for you.
Surrounding the campus is Brookhaven, a safe, family-friendly neighborhood and desirable Atlanta suburb. Additionally, the Brookhaven Police are a well-resourced force with outstanding response time, working hand-in-hand with our campus safety team to ensure that students can feel safe any time, day or night.

Notice of Availability of Oglethorpe Campus Security & Fire Safety Report for Prospective Students
We place the highest priority on the safety and security of our students and campus community. In accordance with section 485(f) of Higher Education Act of 1965, known as the Jeanne Clery Act, Oglethorpe prepares and publishes an annual report on campus security and fire safety. The report provides increased transparency about campus incidents, community member rights, policies and procedures for conduct proceedings, support services, prevention, and educational programming. The report is available on the Campus Safety website. A paper copy is available by request.
