Scholarship Weekend

Our best students compete for our best scholarships.

Scholarship Weekend brings together our best and brightest admitted students. At Oglethorpe, personal is powerful, and we believe in getting to know each candidate individually. The weekend will include seminars, interviews, presentations, or auditions which, in combination with your academic record of achievement, will help the scholarship committee make nominations for each award.

We anticipate participation from 300+ students from more than 20 states, so this is a great time for you to connect with potential college classmates! Scholarship Weekend will also feature an array of informative panels and discussions offered for parents and guardians so they can participate fully in the college decision-making process.

Scholarship Weekend events will take place on-campus and you must be present to participate.

In qualifying for Scholarship Weekend, you have already earned a renewable, annual merit award of at least $18,000! Participation in Scholarship Weekend can only serve to increase your total award.

Nomination Process

Students must be nominated by the Office of Admission to compete in Scholarship Weekend. Nominations are determined by a holistic review of a student’s application, including their academic credentials, co-curricular activities, leadership experience, personal essay, and recommendations. Students are notified of the competitions for which they have been nominated in their admission Petrel Package and by email. The final deadline to RSVP for each competition is two weeks before the event date.

Full Tuition Awards

Oglethorpe offers full-tuition scholarships in several categories. Students are welcome, but not required, to compete in all competitions for which they have been nominated.
