Around Atlanta
Something For Everyone
When your big backyard is the city of Atlanta, you’ll never run out of stuff to do.
For outdoorsy types, there are picnics, bike rides and bocce ball games in Piedmont Park; hikes at Stone Mountain; afternoons at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, where climate-controlled indoor habitats mean you can visit the tropics or desert all year round; or bike rides along the BeltLine, a former railway corridor turned pedestrian path and greenway.
For sports fans, we have the Falcons (NFL) at the Georgia Dome, the Braves (MLB) at Turner Field, and the Hawks (NBA) at Philips Arena. Atlanta is also home to a number of outstanding golf courses.
Art lovers can rejoice: there’s the High Museum of Art, the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA), the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, and the Michael C. Carlos Museum, plus the King Plow Arts Center and the Goat Farm Arts Center. There’s opera, ballet, symphony orchestra, puppetry arts, and improv.
If you love live music, you can see shows and concerts of all kinds at the Fox Theatre, the Tabernacle, Variety Playhouse, the Masquerade, the Cobb Centre, and more.
For history and architecture buffs, Atlanta is home to hundreds of historic homes and buildings and important architectural sites.
And don’t even get us started on Atlanta’s food scene — one of the best in the country. Upscale Southern cuisine meets around-the-world fusion, for delicious takes on everything from the Korean taco to the fried green tomato.

It’s always fun to play tourist, whether you’re new in town or born and raised (you might just discover the city in a new way!).
