Build the Future

Your college years offer unbeatable opportunities to sample careers, explore areas of interest, and develop professional networks that you’ll rely on throughout your career. We’ll support you so that your resume-building becomes career-building, life-building, bridge-building. At Oglethorpe, you start working with professional career advisors from day one. They will help you explore career options and locate the perfect professional internship. At Oglethorpe, we guarantee an internship to every student who wants one (many students do several).

Making a Difference is Who We Are

The Oglethorpe tradition of public service goes all the way back to James Edward Oglethorpe: founder of the colony of Georgia, fighter of oppression, historic humanitarian, and of course, our namesake. Since 1835, we’ve been searching for ways to make a positive impact on our world. Today, service is the thread connecting everyone at Oglethorpe – and it’s woven tight.

Civic Engagement
Beat Your Bucket List

The Oglethorpe classroom is everywhere and travel is an incredible way to deepen your relationships with your classmates and get to know your professors in a whole new way – there’s nothing like an impassioned lecture right at the scene of some of history’s most famous archaeology and art! Spend a semester in our premier academic exchange, Oxford University; at one of our 15 international partner institutions; or a summer studying with OU faculty at one of our global campuses in Barcelona, Rome, Paris, Cape Town or Greece.

Global Education
Why Wait for Graduate School?

At Oglethorpe, you’re taught by active scholars and experienced professionals engaged in research with real-world implications. And unlike larger universities, Oglethorpe allows you to partner on research with faculty in nearly every discipline. Each spring, the entire university participates in a day-long celebration of exemplary analytic and creative work produced by Oglethorpe students under faculty mentorship in the Liberal Arts & Sciences Symposium and PRISM, Posters of Research in Science and Mathematics.
